There’s something undeniably special about a wedding at Dorfold Hall - Cripps & Co, Cheshire.

Set within the Cheshire countryside, the combination of historic architecture, modern styling and relaxed luxury makes it one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the North West for couples wanting a wedding that feels both timeless and contemporary.

As a Manchester wedding photographer, venues like this are an absolute dream to photograph. The soft natural light, elegant interiors and romantic grounds lend themselves perfectly to the kind of storytelling I love most — modern, editorial imagery filled with real emotion and meaningful moments.

This wedding was exactly that.

From the quiet anticipation during morning preparations to the candlelit atmosphere of the evening celebrations, every part of the day felt intentional, stylish and deeply personal.

Why I Love Photographing Weddings at Dorfold Hall, Cripps & Co in Cheshire.

One of the things I love most about Dorfold Hall is how effortlessly it blends old-world romance with a modern wedding aesthetic.

The venue offers endless opportunities for storytelling imagery:

* elegant Georgian architecture

* beautifully curated interiors

* expansive grounds for romantic portraits

* contemporary reception spaces with character and warmth

* stunning natural light throughout the day

For couples drawn to a relaxed yet fashion-inspired wedding style, it really is the perfect setting.

As a documentary wedding photographer, I’m always looking for authentic moments as they naturally unfold — the fleeting glances, emotional embraces, champagne toasts, wind-blown veils, happy tears and chaotic dance floor energy that make a wedding uniquely yours.

But alongside those candid moments, I also love creating editorial-inspired portraits that feel effortless and cinematic without ever feeling overly posed.

This venue allows space for both beautifully.

A Day Filled With Emotion, Style & Modern Romance

The entire wedding felt intimate, stylish and full of heart.

The morning preparations were calm and emotional, with soft light pouring through the windows and those quiet little moments unfolding naturally between family and friends.

The ceremony itself was full of emotion — the kind that reminds me exactly why I love photographing weddings.

Nothing forced.

Nothing staged.

Just genuine connection.

Throughout the day, I documented Megan & Adams celebration as it unfolded, blending a documentary approach with gentle direction where needed to create imagery that felt modern, elegant and true to the couple.

One of my favourite parts of the day was stealing the couple away briefly for portraits around the grounds of Dorfold Hall.

No awkward posing.

No long photoshoots.

Just movement, connection and space for them to simply be together for a few moments amongst the chaos of the day.

Those are often the images that become the most meaningful.

Editorial Wedding Photography With Feeling

I think modern couples are increasingly looking for wedding photography that feels authentic but elevated — images that capture not only how the day looked, but how it truly felt.

That balance between documentary storytelling and editorial imagery is something I’m deeply passionate about.

I want my couples to look back at their gallery and feel transported straight back into the atmosphere of their wedding day:

* the emotion

* the energy

* the romance

* the people they love most

* the in-between moments they didn’t even realise were happening

Weddings like this at Dorfold Hall, Cheshire are a perfect reminder that beautiful wedding photography doesn’t need to feel stiff or traditional.

It can feel emotional.

Modern.

Stylish.

Relaxed.

And completely personal to you.
